There's only ONE Race. Superficial differences do not change the fact that we are all related and don't need to go that far back in lineage. The Thousand Genome Project has revealed a whole new picture of who we are. It further reveals the ignorance of people that base there views of others predominately on these surface level differences. You may be more closely related to someone with the greatest difference in melanin levels than with the person of like level sitting across from you. There are now 3,202 samples from the 1000 Genomes Project sample collections sequenced to high-coverage by @nygenome (funded by NHGRI @genome_gov).
