The title really needs punctuation as "Forgotten Promises" is what happened with the stated convictions of Nancy Pelosi from a smidge over 4 years ago. "Give Me Gas" is what the nation is screaming right now as we reach the tipping point.
While Obama was never too upset about skyrocketing oil/gas prices, before the Democrats took back the Senate, Pelosi said, “With record gas prices, record CEO pay packages, and record oil company profits, Speaker Hastert and the Majority Congress continue to give the American people empty rhetoric rather than join Democrats who are working to lower gas prices now.
“Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels.”
Not only did the Dems do nothing about the prices, they are doubling down on Green Tech banter. Obama thinks that skyrocketing gas prices will force us to go all in on supposedly green alternatives.
So, America will get hybrid and electric cars shoved down our throats. We will continue to turn food into fuel as the world food shortage is killing people. Even though, to turn food into fuel, you must use other fuels.
Let the madness continue and promises fade only to be replaced with more promises.

Is the Bible Relevant Today?
The Alpha and the Omega, our God is AT the beginning and the end and ALL that is in between as he is outside of the timeline. He has given us this manual for living. In it's pages you find advice on dealing with others, dealing with money, proper thinking, and motivation.
The history contained in the Bible shows us examples and informs us how things came to be. For generations people have attempted to disprove the Bible and in doing so have added to the evidence that supports it. French philosopher Voltaire bragged that within a hundred years the Bible would have passed into the mists of history as people became more liberated and enlightened. That time has come and gone while most have forgotten him and the Bible has continued to inspire.
It is a book that not only tells us what happened, but what WILL happen. Even today, prophesies are fulfilled. Who would have believed Israel would become a nation once more after being dispersed throughout the world. Who believes that the Temple will be rebuilt? It will. We don't know how yet, but it will. What does the future hold for us? It is all foretold as it now unveils in front of us. What book could be MORE relevant?

Deep Thoughts in Random Succession
The following are points cast out through my Facebook Status or in response to others.
-When OPM runs out, cuts need to be made.
-Ultimately, the government CANNOT fix the economy, only hinder. It is up to the people to find a way. America is where the most creative people have gathered for just this opportunity.
-If someone is allowed a privilege for a long enough period of time, then they seem to start thinking the PRIVILEGE is a RIGHT.
-No, I would NOT nuke the moon while punching a hippie. We clearly need the moon.
-In 1980, the last year before the tax cuts, tax revenues were $956 billion (in constant 1996 dollars). Revenues exceeded that 1980 level in eight of the next 10 years. Annual revenues over the next decade averaged $102 billion above their 1980 level (in constant 1996 dollars). Any increase in budget deficits was therefore the result of spending increases rather than tax cut-induced revenue decreases.
-When you vote for someone to represent you in government, it means he/she is there taking you place and negotiating on your behalf. If you then support collective bargaining, then you are now supporting the group that you (your rep) is negotiating against. You have in essence nullified your own interests.
-Have you considered the possibility Obama WANTS to bring financial collapse? He didn't teach the Constitution per say, he taught Alinski and the Clowerd and Piven Strategy for how to implement Alinski's plan.
-God, family, the Constitution, fiscal responsibility. When did these become "extreme"?? If you have a yard sale that makes over $600, then you are required by law to report it to the IRS (in Obamacare). Now THAT'S what I call extreme. If you don't see how far left we've been thrown, then you are more out of the loop than a blind Chicago cab driver.
- President Obama was complicit as a senator in blocking reform needed to reel in Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, which led to the housing and mortgage collapse and ushered in the recession.
- You've given this Pres the ability to take over any financial company he wants through the guise of reform.
-"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." ~Thomas Edison
- We denounce Drilling and then give 2 Billion to the Billionaire George Soros' BRAZILIAN Company for offshore drilling. North Korea and the Chi-coms are on the list of countries drilling in the Gulf, but WE won't let OUR companies. Meanwhile, we head into a global food crisis while we continue to put our crops into the gas tank. Come ON! WTF?
- The founders wanted Christian influence on the government, but no government influence on the church.
- The Bible teaches that we should be charitable, but it's one thing for you to give out of compassion to someone who's less fortunate. It’s an entirely different thing for the government to confiscate your property and give it to someone else. It is because of our government being based on Christian principles that other religions have flourished here. See if you feel the same in Islamic countries.
-One of the problems with Conservative ideas is that the make sense, but they take power away from the bureaucrats. The ideas are usually shouted down. People hardly ever get a complete explanation.
-"The only way that has ever been discovered to have a lot of people cooperate together voluntarily is through the free market. And that's why it's so essential to preserving individual freedom." - Milton Friedman. People do more when they have incentives. It is human nature. Capitalism rewards your efforts.
-If you are an employee that feels slighted in wages, then you have the right to go to another employer.
-If libs believe cigarette taxes will discourage smoking, they should also expect high investment taxes to discourage investment and income taxes to discourage work. Lowering taxes encourages people to engage in the given behavior, which expands the base and replenishes some of the lost revenue. This is the "feedback effect" of a tax cut. Smaller percentage of a larger pie.
-They're not media. They're propagandists, partisan political operatives, part of the Democrat political complex. We still call 'em the media, which is a gross mischaracterization of who these people are.
-Today, in America, we have the freedom to follow our beliefs BECAUSE we were founded on Christian principals. Try moving to a Muslim run country. See how much freedom you have there.
- Of course there is greed, but you can't brush with such broad strokes. Calling all successful people greedy is ridiculous. Do you think pro athletes are just being greedy? Obviously, to some extent, but they also know that their talent brings in money.
-The salaries of executives are negotiated amounts. These are the people that make the decisions and are paid accordingly. They were hired by the owners or representatives of the stockholders (board of directors). In the business world there are pros that command salaries like pro athletes enjoy. Like an athlete that doesn't perform well, they can be replaced, but the company may have to pay off the contract. Many of the bonuses that you've heard execs being paid are written into their contracts for personal performance and may not determined by how well the company does. If you are a non-decision making employee, then you are being paid a time for money wage that you agreed to. If you want make more, then you need to increase your value to the company and renegotiate your position.
- In the Bible, on Joseph's suggestion (Gen 41:34), Pharaoh reduced the tax on Egyptians to 20% during the 'seven years of plenty' and the 'Earth brought forth in heaps.' (Gen. 41:47)
-Assess politicians on their record, not their rhetoric.
-Reagan approved the last amnesty, but the decision to pass it hinged on sealing the borders to stop the mass flow. That never happened. The "Tequila Party" wants to continue bringing Undocumented Democrats.
-Historically the REVENUE is an average of 18.5% of GDP, no matter how much you tax. The "RICH" do not have their money laying around the house. It is invested in the economy. If you overtax them, then you are taking money out of the economy, thereby insuring it's continued stalling. It will come back, but it's being pulled under by this current.
-Well, I'm officially against the DREAM Act. I'm reading through it now. It is NOT as advertised. It also provides a substantial amount of Federal funds for illegals in a time that our govt is broke.
-Do Liberals believe that some day they will be judged by the how much good they did with OTHER PEOPLES MONEY?? - Me
-Taxes are the government taking money out of the economy. Regardless of how much the person at the point of withdrawal is making, they have their money in the economy (unless they keep it under their mattress).
-A big problem with Liberals is that they either don't know or don't care that increasing taxes doesn't increase revenue. It seems to be more a matter of punishing people they deem to have too much. - Me
- I don't consider diamonds a safe investment, unless you realize that you may at some point need to cut yourself free from your glass house. - Me
-Bush didn't control the budget when we went into recession. Dems took control of the house and senate Jan 1st, 2007. The recession started in the last quarter of 08. They controlled the purse strings for almost 2yrs. Now, it WAS the housing and loan crisis that was the main reason for the recession start. It was the Dem policies that created that circumstance.
-Zeitgeist creator Peter Joseph Merola and his brother Eric also worked on Michael Moore's movie: Capitalism a Love Story.
-Bernanke launched a second round of Quantitative Easing (QE2) in October which drove up commodity food prices around the world. Add to that the fact that Ethanol drove up the price of corn.
-Reagan was a real President. He is missed by many, Maligned by others and his name dropped by the same to win the votes of the uninformed.
-Hypocrisy can be a good thing. If we only followed example, we'd be doomed. ****There are, of course, true examples to follow, but they are few.
-If we put personalities over policy, then we will continuously be disappointed.
-God will not be impressed when you tell Him you don't believe in hell.
-One thing we must do is cap welfare spending. It's now reaching $1 trillion across all levels of government. Congress should consider all 71 means-tested welfare programs as a whole, eliminating redundant programs and capping annual increases in welfare spending at the rate of inflation.
-You been listening to NPR and getting all riled up? "Egypt! Egyyyyypt! Whew, fight the power..... that uh pays us.....whew.......okay please?" So, now public employees are asked to make a small 5.8% pension contribution, which is about the national average, and 12.6% health insurance contribution, which is about half the national average. WHOA! Let's riot.
-"The evil Corporations are trying to control everything!" Oh, you mean the evil corporations that your pensions are invested in, Dumbass? I hope they are trying to get a fair shake after all the plundering that Dem Leaders attempt via legislation.
- Obama's "Laser-like Focus" on jobs may explain the pile of ashes where jobs used to be.
- Our Governor is trying to uphold the law and fix the economy. For that, people say "Recall." Meanwhile, we have a President that ignores the Constitution, ignores the rulings of FEDERAL JUDGES, and puts us in unimaginable DEBT. Yet where are these wimps gonna focus??? "Oh evil budget balancer, ooooooo!"
-Ignorance is like a golf score. You shouldn't strive for the higher amount.
-Remember when your parents finally told you that they can't keep bailing you out, so make do with your own income. Conservatism is kinda like that.
-When OPM runs out, cuts need to be made.

Punishing Success
Historically, REVENUE has been an average of 18.5% of GDP, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TAX!!! So, why keep raising taxes when it is the economy that really controls the amount of revenue government collects. We have long ago passed the equilibrium.
What REALLY determines how much revenue taxes bring in is the economy. There is no reason to raise income tax rates on ANYONE. Taxes are a percentage, NOT a fixed number. Milton Friedman spoke of this as taking a smaller percentage of a bigger pie.
When you raise taxes, then you are taking more money directly out of the economy. No matter who you are taxing, everyone's money is in the economy until the government takes it. So, taxing puts a drag on the economy. It makes recovery slower. The belief that taking money out of the economy is the key to fixing it is just legendary stupid.
When you cut taxes, you are not giving people a gift, you are allowing them to KEEP the money they have made in the economy.
Our market system has room for as many millionaires as there are people. Punishing people for being successful only means less will make it.
"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. "
-Sir Winston Churchill
Income taxes are supposed to be for the purpose of funding government, but it has changed to a means of hindering people from becoming wealthy. If you already are successful and headed upward then they will take more and more of the money that YOU have earned and give it to those that have not.
REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH....... Socialism......... This has become the purpose of taxes.
The people that are being called the rich are not the mega rich that people are imagining. These are investors and business operators that are the ones that can drive the growth of the economy.
The really rich are living off the interest of their amassed fortunes and won't be terribly hurt by the taxes. We've recently seen some of the Mega Rich come out and say tax them more because they can take it. Yet, all they really need do is fill in the little box on their income tax form that says they would like to pay more and how much they want to contribute. What do they do in reality?? THEY PUT THEIR MONEY AWAY IN AS MANY PLACES AS THEY CAN FIND THAT WON'T BE TAXED.
We don't have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem. Cut spending, cut taxes and the economy will grow and thereby increasing the revenue.

Democrat Tax Evaders
It would seem that the same party that believes in raising taxes and finding new ways to spend money is full of leaders that try to avoid paying taxes.
Here's the short list:
Bill Richardson, New Mexico Democratic Governor, nominated for Commerce Department Secretary. He withdrew on January 4 after it emerged that he was the subject of a Grand Jury investigation for influence peddling, due to his awarding of a $1.5 million state contract to political contributors.
Tom Daschle, Former South Dakota Democratic Senator, nominated for Health and Human Services Secretary. He withdrew on February 3, admitting that he had failed to pay more than $100,000 in taxes on a car and driver provided by a friend and on consulting fees after he left the Senate.
Nancy Killefer, former Assistant Secretary for Management and Chief Financial Officer of the Treasury Department during the Clinton administration, nominated for Deputy Director at the Office of Management and Budget and Chief Performance Officer. Killefer withdrew on February 3 because of a lien against her home for failure to pay unemployment tax for household help.
Hilda Solis, nominated for Labor Secretary, was confirmed on February 11 even though her husband had liens against his business going back 16 years. He paid $6,400 owed a day before her confirmation hearing.
Timothy Geithner, nominated and confirmed on February 24 for Treasury Secretary(in charge of IRS). Geithner failed to pay $34,000 in self-employment taxes while he worked at the International Monetary Fund from 2001 to 2004. Yet he was still confirmed because Democrats said his position was too important to be left unfilled any longer.
Former Obama campaign worker Susan Tierney, the leading candidate for Deputy Secretary of Energy, dropped out on March 3 without citing a reason. Is she afraid to cite back taxes?
Jane Garvey, reportedly Obama's top choice for Deputy Secretary of Transportation, also dropped out on March 3, reportedly for financial reasons.
Former Washington Democratic Governor Gary Locke. Nominated on March 5, for Secretary of Commerce after Bill Richardson and Judd Gregg withdrew. So far he appears to be sailing through to confirmation, but Frontpage Mag points out he was involved in Chinagate with former Clinton Commerce employee John Huang. Huang wrote a $1,000 check to Locke and co-sponsored fund-raising.
Annette Nazareth, who was to be nominated for Treasury Deputy Secretary, abruptly announced on March 5 she was stepping aside for "personal reasons."
Caroline Atkinson, nominated for Undersecretary of International Affairs, abruptly withdrew on March 5 as well.
Because of the long list of nominees who withdrew for tax problems, their withdrawals are forever tainted with a cloud of suspicion.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Obama's first pick for Surgeon General, withdrew on March 5 without citing a reason. Sources close to the Dr. hinted that he did not want his name associated with a failing administration that is increasingly perceived as corrupt.
Former Dallas Democratic Mayor Ron Kirk, nominated for Trade Representative, failed to pay $10,000 in back taxes for speaking fees over three years. He faced Senate questioning on March 9 over it, but is expected to win confirmation. He has agreed to pay $9,975 in back taxes from 2005-2007.
Here's the short list:

Intellectualism falls to Wisdom
I've read it all, plus 2
The more I read, the more I knew
The more I knew, the less I learned
Wisdom does not come unearned
through life's lessons and history sessions
when logic is yearned
into our mind, Wisdom is burned.
The more I read, the more I knew

Wisdom does not come unearned
through life's lessons and history sessions

Nothin Up My Sleeve…… Just Glad I Still Have a Shirt!
This time they've gone too far. Our elected officials are not even given time to read the bills before they are expected to vote. HOWEVER, “We the People” have started to pay more attention. We have even started reading the bills, rather then taking their word for it.
Now they'd like to make you think it's just Republicans that oppose these bills, namely the Health Care bill and the Stimulus Packages. Not true. There are fiscal conservatives in both parties.
JOE LIEBERMAN: I don't agree. Premiums will go up. When people hear "public option" I think they think it's for free. It's not for free. Somebody's going to have to pay for it, and you can bet it's going to be the taxpayers and the people who pay health insurance premiums now.
It's up to us to take what they promise and compare it with what is in the bill that they write. If it doesn't match up (and it won't), then we need to call them on it.
So, if Democrats (the leadership) aren't trying to fix things, then WHAT???
Here's what they do. They create programs that they control. They get as many people addicted to the programs. This is there real voter base. Once you are hooked, you are not going to vote for the person that wants to end your program.
Obama is taking it one step further by creating the circumstances to hasten your move to dependence. Slavery won't come again as a revolution, it will sneak up on you.
No, there's nothing up my sleeve…. or in my pocket…… or my wallet. Progressive seems to means Negative Progress.
